In the period 28.09.2015 - 02.10.2015 was conducted a study tour to Norway. Study tour took place in the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation with Norway project partners and strengthening partnerships. The main objective of the study tour is to increase the training of the project team in the use of innovative technology in practice and sharing of knowledge and best practices in the processing of biomass.

The study tour was attended by 14 participants from the Green Industry Innovation programme´s stakeholder and project partners. Within the exchange of experiences and  knowledge transfer the participants visited the research organizations, local and private organizations in Oslo and surrounding area.

Local and private organizations:

  • Bioenergy heating central in Ås,

  • Production of wood chips Bøn Biobrensel AS in Bøn,

  • Bioenergy Heating Central Råholt Varmesentral with local heating grid in Råholt,

  • Biogas facility Romerike Biogassanlegg in Vormsud that processes organic waste from households,

  • Hydroelectric power plant Nordre Mangen Gaard in Aurskog-Høland,

  • Wood processing company Mathiesen Eidsvold Værk in Hurdal,

  • Sawmill Moelven Eidsvold Værk in Moelv.

Part of the study trip was the visit at the Ambasador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in the Kingdom of Norway Mr. Frantisek Kasicky. The meeting highlighted the active and increased cooperation with Norway in the field of renewable energy where the company BIOPEL announced its partnership with the Norwegian organization. Within the meeting members agreed on continuing communication and information about other activities and look forward to further cooperation in bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Norway.

Finally, a meeting was held in organization of Innovation Norway, which donates the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. At the meeting were provided information about the current status of implementation of the project Biomass Logistic Center, which is implemented under the program SK07 Green Industry Innovation, information about organizing a seminar under this project at the end of October 2015 as well as the discussion on the new programming period 2015-2020 and priority areas of Norwegian grants.
